Esau

Esau is a gripping thriller by Philip Kerr that combines mountaineering adventure, scientific mystery, espionage and the legend of the Yeti. The story follows renowned climber Jack Furness after a disastrous expedition in the Himalayas, where he discovers a mysterious hominid skull preserved in the ice.

When paleoanthropologist Stella Swift examines the discovery, the evidence suggests something extraordinary: the remains may belong to a previously unknown species rather than an ancient fossil. Their investigation leads them back toward the remote Himalayas, where scientific ambition, political interests and dangerous secrets collide.
